Cozy and Casual Dining at The Lake District Tagaytay

3:48 AM

Tagaytay is always been a good choice of location for unplanned road trips, mini adventures and staycations because of its cold environment and sightseeing spots. Aside from that, now, Tagaytay is also known as dining destination with scenic environment and I'm sure you have your go-to-resto there, but if you and your friends or family is looking for something new to try for your next visit or need of stopover place to eat, try here at The Lake District Tagaytay as they let you experience a happiness on a plate of their own twist and touch of modern pinoy comfort food.

The Lake District Tagaytay will make you feel warm and welcoming - it's home. Food and venue is perfect for any occasion from casual dine out to special events. They've got spacious area for your convenience but not enough tables for peak hours, I guess. The restaurant is not only for families but also for millennials because of their drinking lounge, built with urban-industrial interiors on the rooftop where they can experience chill vibes and scrumptious food while listening to live bands.
Apart from drinking lounge on the roof deck, a wide selection of alcoholic drinks are also displayed inside the restaurant so just in case you want to grab some after a hearty meal - you may.

Super like their House Blend Iced Tea (P130) you can really taste the lemon but not that strong, so refreshing.

CONVERSATION STARTERS
- Appetizers + Bar Chow for Sharing
Spiced Fries with Tsokolate de Batirol Ganache (Php 200)
This reminds me of what I usually order in Mcdo, salted caramel sundae plus fries hahaha. The Lake District version has a combination of sweet, spicy and salty of fries, drizzled with chocolate sauce made with Batangas tablea plus vanilla ice cream on the side. Okay, they break the rule here, but who said ice cream and spice blend fries are for dessert only? None right?! Because we're all guilty, it's always good anytime.

Open-Faced Empanada with Longganisa and Itlog na Maalat (Php 200)
Ugh. When two of your favorites blend, the Atchara and cheese!❤ A total empanda with a twist. There's so much going on once you taste it. Crunchy, salty, cheese that melts plus the longganisa is a winner. Though it's pretty messy to it like a taco. The deep fried empanada crusts was freshly made at their kitchen. Topped with atchara, itlog na maalat and tomato salsa, recado longganisa and 2 kinds of cheese.

Lake District Sisig (Php 280)
Whenever Sisig is on menu, we always make sure we have it in our table, of course it's all time Filipino favorite and another must try sisig in the town is The Lake District Sisig. The crunchy pork was cutted rationally + crispy chopped chili pepper plus their very own wasabi mayo is the star that gives a unique taste. It's pretty spicy but it will keep you going and the wasabi flavor is not that strong so don't worry and I'm telling you, it's awesome!☺

Bowls of Happiness
- Salad and Rice Dishes
Lake District Tawilis Sardines Omurice (P250)
When Filipino meet Korean in one dish. The Lake District Omurice is an example of fusion and creativity. Everything was perfectly cooked! Soft scrambled egg with fried onions, capers, garlic, herbs and topped with The Lake District signature tawilis sardines which truly deserves to be on top! Very tasty and brawny. I think spiced vinegar can be a perfect alternative to ketchup. Tagaytay is also known for selling the best tawilis sardines since these fish can be fished in the water like Taal Lake.

Porchetta with Lake District Liver Sauce (Good for 3) (P400)
Don't miss out The Lake District's best seller Porchetta! This 380g rolled pork belly was stuffed with special herbs and spices then slow cooked and deep fried in enough amount of temperature. To make the dish more delicious it was served with herbed garlic confit, atchara and their signature liver sauce on the side. Experience it yourself: rice + pork belly + liver sauce and atchara on top of it= ❤ I can't put it in words so I'll leave a heart symbol na lang hehehe.

Adobo Glazed Pork Ribs with Grilled Pineapple Rum
(Good for 3) (P480)
This finger-lickin' juicy 400g pork ribs is fantastic! Made with special rub, natural smoke flavor and adobo sauce. They've got the perfect texture and moisture for great smoky ribs. You just need a little effort for the meat to pull off to the bone, yes that's how tender their glazed smoky ribs! It comes up with corn on a cob with spiced honey compound butter and itlog na maalat with tomato salsa. Super love the pineapple slices marinated in rum and cinnamon! Nothing left!☺ and don't worry you won't get drunk hehehe.

Spicy Garlic Butter Seafood Platter (P380)
Happiness on a plate indeed! I'm a seafood lover and this one is absolutely perfect! For me, it can be an appetizer or main course. This dish is a mixture of shrimps, mussels, and squid then stir fried in a lot of garlic and sweet chili sauce topped with indian mango with bagoong vinaigrette. There's a little bit of spiciness but tolerable even kids!☺

Classic Tagaytay Bulalo (P490)
A Tagaytay trip is not complete without having a steaming bowl of happiness, which is the Bulalo. Skipped your frequent Bulalohan and try The Lake District Classic Bulalo that you'll surely love! Served in sizable pot with beef shank simmered in a hearty warm broth (tender into perfection!) with a mix of celery, potatoes, petchay tagalog, saging na saba, and other veggies cooked without losing it's crispy like cabbage and corn.

SWEET FINISH
- Desserts Best Eaten with our Very Own Cup of Brew
Cream Coffee with Pineapple Marmalade (P200)
This is my favorite dessert at The Lake District. A perfect taste of bitter, salty and sweet. Composed of two (2) most popular produce in Tagaytay, this creamy sweet, tart and bitter combination actually works! The taste of the thing on the side (forgot what it's called) is like a peanut brittle without a peanut, it's just a piece of hard sugar candy but it's like peanut brittle hahaha maybe there's a peanut.

Lake District Chocolate Truffles (P250)

A veritable treat for the palate. You don't really have to use much effort on  eating this since it melts on your mouth- sweet, very smooth and creamy. This chocolate ball goodness made with crushed oreos, cream cheese, coated in chocolate ganache; served with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream on the side.

The Lake District Tagaytay is an instagram worthy too! I love the interior - modern western with  touch of rustic. You will appreciate the place and don't forget to go upstair, you gonna love the roof deck! After pigging out we did a quick photoshoot. Yay!☺

I highly recommended The Lake District Tagaytay- the place, servings and price is reasonable. These might be another Filipino restaurant but you will see and taste the difference- quality and creativity in every plate they serve.
